Touch-A-Truck

This was an event we heard about at the last minute but anything involving TRUCKS was a must see in LV's book! We saw dump trucks, mail trucks, tow trucks and a few other trucks there. Children could climb into them, honk the horns and just enjoy pretending they were driving these big trucks. Lou also got a kick out of the Chik-Fil-A cow. He was trying to convince the cow to go over to see the trucks with him.

Announcement time

In February 2008, we will be adding to our family. We have found out we are expecting number 2 then and are very excited. The little guy's opinion remains ambiguous for now!!

Memorial Day Festivities

We made the drive up to NC to visit Lou's brother and his wife because it was the big 3-O for her on Saturday. Lou had a chance to socialize with another tot there about to turn 4. Jimmy is an avid Thomas the Tank Engine fan so the two immediately bonded. He really did have a great time playing with him. Here's a picture LV with his uncle Mike.

Mother's Day Visit

We had LV's New Jersey grandparents visit us this Mother's Day weekend. Lou's brother Mike and his wife Robin joined us too. On Saturday, we went to the Children's Museum in Downtown Atlanta. Even without a nap, LV held up really well. We then grilled out for dinner on Saturday which was great. Sunday, we just took it easy and enjoyed Mother's Day. Unfortunately we didn't get as many pictures as we would have liked but Pop sent us some photos to put up out there.

Visit Home

LV and I headed to my hometown for a short visit. We had not been there since January and we felt we were overdue. We flew in on Saturday and stayed through Tuesday. Included in the visit were going to the Museum to check out the city's museum as well as see my brother's (Uncle Rico and Uncle Jim)

It was a good time all around for both of us but very short. It was great to see everyone regardless. Grandma's dog, "the Princess" had a great time playing with LV and really enjoyed chasing someone with boundless energy around the house.

Happy Easter!

Hippitus! Hoppitus! Easter is here! We had a really busy day yesterday. First we headed off to Mass to the 10:30 service. LV was really well behaved and we even ran into a few of his friends from Daycare. They just started going to Church at our parish, so that is nice to bring these two tykes closer together. We snapped a few photos after Mass on the new deck.


After a short nap, we headed to Joanna & Brett's house for a late Easter lunch. They held a Easter Egg hunt later that day. LV didn't quite understand the whole Easter Egg hunt concept. We did help him out by pointing out a few eggs. Notice he did not let go of his Thomas Trains at ALL!
Total bucket count - 12 eggs, 2 wood chips and a cucumber slice (we found later he put into his bucket!)

Wonderful Weekend

We've been really lucky here in Georgia with some great weather. We have enjoyed being outdoors, planting some flowers, getting pine straw ready to lay down and getting the deck ready to be stained. This last weekend we had Joanna and Brett over for dinner and Lou's friend Abigail was in tow (along with Billy Brett her brother). Lou and Abigail played well together. Abigail is very sweet and affectionate often giving hugs and kisses to Lou. We are going to take a class with Abigail and her parents soon in April to enjoy even more time with them!

A special visit

Aunt Kate started her spring break coming down to visit us. She brought her Corgi Ellie with us. Ellie was completely well behaved and a clever little dog. I thought Lou would be more into bugging her but he enjoyed both the dogs in the house together. We went out to the dog park near the house and let the dogs (and Lou) roam and play. Kate met a fellow Corgi owner and talked Corgi Tips with them while Lou watched the bigger dogs play in the large dog run.

Even though Aunt Kate had plenty of grading to do, she made time to hang out with us, go out car shopping and we even got the chance to go get some Mongolian Barbeque!It was nice to have Aunt Kate here to hang out with us. We don't get to see her enough it seems! Hopefully she'll take the better weather up with her and enjoy some sunshine.

Mardi Gras Celebration

Years back I was a co-girlscout leader in Atlanta. I still keep in touch with the troop and the girls when I can. They even thew me a baby shower after Lou was born. Well, the troop had their annual fund raiser with a Mardi Gras theme. The girls did a fantastic job on the food (Cheese puffs, jambalaya, pecan chicken and pralines!) and they enjoyed seeing Lou. The last time they had seen him was last year, so I need to make an effort to get out and see them more often. They are really amazing gals and I hope to keep in touch with them all. I don't think it will be a problem as they all wanted to babysit Lou!!!

Words Words Words

LV's has been trying really hard to say a few words. The word "truck" is now more pronounced which makes it easier for him to say "dump truck". He also has picked up airplane as a new word (pronounced ah-plane). With all the travelling he has done his entire life, I am surprised this wasn't his first word.

Choo choo choo

Well...after our Chuck E Cheese Adventure, Mr. Lou didn't want to take a nap, so we figured we would take the opportunity to visit the Southeast Railroad Museum in Duluth. Its not too far from the house and a nice little place for children. They had all sorts of cars and train engines there. Lou was sooo excited. He was babbling non-stop but excited regardless. We snapped a few pictures of us on the train (which was very cold!) There was an exhibit that was really neat to see which was the train that was used for President Harding's Whistle Stop Campaign. It was a really swanky looking car for Mr. President. They have a lot of stuff there to look at and you can actually go into the trains. We also saw an old Atlanta Trolley as well as many steam and diesel engines.

Last year we celebrated Lou and Abigail's birthday together at Chuck E Cheese. So the moms decided to go back there to let the children play again. They had a great time pretty much riding the same rides again and again. This time their expressions are a little more excited. Lou enjoyed the driving games best that he could try. Abigail was excited to try out the dance floor!

Either way these two kept us busy!
